Shanghai Health Promotion Association
The Shanghai Health Promotion Association, formerly known as the Shanghai Anti-Four Pests Association, was established in 1987. It is one of the earliest associations in the field of health promotion in China. Its registration and management authority is the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, and its professional supervisory unit is the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission.
The association is a "5A-level social organization" and plays a pivotal role in the construction of a healthy Shanghai. Its business scope includes health promotion, pest control, and disinfection services, as well as science popularization, information exchange, and professional training. The association has provided technical support for the revision of regulations such as the "Regulations of Shanghai Municipality on Patriotic Health and Health Promotion". It has also cooperated with the municipal government to distribute "health reading materials + tools" to households for free for 15 consecutive years. During the China International Import Expo, it undertook disinfection tasks for key venues. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it also established an emergency disinfection team, playing a significant role in blocking the spread of the virus.
